Saint Jacques Viaduct in Clermont-Ferrand
Services G2 AVP (Preliminary design) + G5 (Diagnosis)
Client : City of Clermont-Ferrand
Client : SMTC 63
We were commissioned by the Syndicat Mixte des Transports en Commun (SMTC) of Clermont-Ferrand conurbation to carry out a diagnostic mission (G5) to validate the geo-mechanical soil hypotheses retained by the project management team for the replacement of the guardrail wall on the south abutment.
The second mission (G2 AVP) enabled the dimensioning of the struts selected as a reinforcement solution by the project management team during the reconstruction work on the drift wall.
In order to carry out these tasks, five pressuremeter boreholes and 3 core boreholes, supplemented by shear tests, were carried out at the foot of the viaduct.
