As part of structural diagnostics work on masonry tunnels lined with shotcrete, the contracting authority SNCF Réseau wanted to identify the reinforcement mesh, the thickness of the steel coating and the total thickness of the shotcrete.
This work was carried out by georadar reconnaissance using a specially developed chassis, followed by a campaign of core sampling at heights of 1.5 m and 4.6 m.
