Courpière (63)
Mission G2 + G4 (Standard NF P 94-500)
Client : Town of Courpière
We were commissioned by the town of Courpière to carry out a G2 and G4 geotechnical study as part of the reconstruction of a 13th-century rampart. In order to carry out the work, it was necessary to secure the area by building a nailed wall with earthworks in progress.
The presence of numerous existing buildings nearby, some of them of historic interest, meant that movement had to be controlled. The site was constantly monitored using topographic targets.
After the safety phase, a reinforced concrete retaining wall founded on piles 15 m deep was built. This was faced with stone masonry to comply with the recommendations of the Architecte des Bâtiments de France.
The work cost around €1.5M.
Investigations carried out :
- G2 PRO geotechnical study using pressiometric and penetrometric soundings
- Dimensioning of piles
- Stability of nailed wall under TALREN and PLAXIS
- Validation of the contractor’s calculation notes
- Works supervision (18 months)
