Cournon d’Auvergne (63)
We were commissioned by Clermont Auvergne Métropole to carry out the geotechnical studies required for the redevelopment and extension of the Cournon d’Auvergne waste collection centre (installation of supports between the platforms, a waste sorting building and platforms for the containers).
The general stability of the current site was checked, as the existing waste centre was built on top of an embankment more than 10 metres high.
A total of 10 pressure and destructive borings, 14 mechanical shovel borings, 7 penetrometric borings, 1 piezometer and numerous laboratory tests were carried out.
These boreholes and tests were used to design the foundations for the future support structures of the docks, the buildings, the foundations of the platforms under the containers and the heavy road structures.
We supervised the validation of the foundation excavations and the materials used to build the roads.
