From the thesis of Amélie Laurent
Within the framework of her thesis on the evaluation of the archaeological potential of soil in urban areas, Amélie Laurent has put forward a new use of the Panda® crossing the vision of the archaeologist and the geotechnician. The use of our dynamic variable energy penetrometer allows to measure and characterize the extent and thickness of archaeological deposits in cities with a proven historical heritage. These data will allow to identify and map in urban areas, the areas available for development projects and the areas dedicated to archaeological excavations.
